Code of conduct
Camp Kee-Mo-Kee is committed to providing a welcoming, safe, and nurturing space for EVERYONE in our camp community to benefit from. To assist us in offering the best experience possible to all, we ask that all participants and their families, staff, volunteers, and visitors adhere to this Code of Conduct.

Respect Yourself
Take care of your physical and emotional well-being.
Practice self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-respect.
Respect the Environment
Camp Kee-Mo-Kee is set on over 20 acres of Carolinian Forest.
Care for and protect our natural surroundings for current and future generations.
Respect Others
Treat all campers, staff, volunteers, and visitors with courtesy, kindness, and respect.
Harassment, bullying, teasing, exclusion, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
Parents and caregivers are expected to model respect toward staff and volunteers.
Behavioural Expectations
Follow instructions from staff and camp leaders.
Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times.
Keep noise levels appropriate for different settings, including meals, quiet time, and sleep.
Participants and staff must remain within designated camp boundaries and may not visit each other’s cabins unless authorized.
Stealing, damaging property, or tampering with safety equipment (smoke alarms, fire extinguishers) is strictly prohibited.
Health & Wellness
Parents should ensure campers are healthy and symptom-free before arrival.
ALL medications must be in their original containers and given to the Health Care Provider upon arrival.
Proof of required vaccinations (including MMR) may be requested.
Head lice checks are conducted upon arrival.
Technology & Personal Devices
Electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, gaming systems, smartwatches, etc.) are not permitted.
If brought to camp, these devices must be checked in and will be returned upon departure.
Prohibited Items
To maintain safety, the following items are not allowed at camp:
Alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, vaping products, recreational or controlled substances.
Weapons or dangerous implements.
Flammable items such as lighters, matches, fireworks, or flint & steel.
Pets or animals.
High-value items, unless approved by staff.
Unauthorized food or snacks (exceptions may be made for dietary needs).
Bringing prohibited items or being under the influence of substances will result in immediate removal from camp, with no refund.
Disciplinary Actions
Staff will address inappropriate behaviour through discussion and guidance.
Repeated violations may result in removal from camp, at the discretion of Directors, with no refund or credit.
Parents/guardians may be contacted if a camper refuses to respect other campers or staff.
Serious offenses, including abuse, harassment, property damage, or safety violations, may result in immediate dismissal and potential financial responsibility for damages.
Non-compliance may impact the camper’s eligibility for future sessions.
