ACTIVITIES AT CAMP

THE FAB 5 - ACTIVITY AREAS

At Camp Kee-Mo-Kee, our activities are centered around five distinct areas, each offering a unique part of the camp experience:

  • Forest & Nature helps campers connect with our Carolinian forests and the Komoka Creek, fostering curiosity and appreciation for the outdoors.

  • Sports includes games and activities like Gaga Ball, camp soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and archery, encouraging teamwork, skill-building, and active fun.

  • Arts & Crafts gives campers a chance to express their creativity through zines, drawings and collages, bracelet-making, and much more.

  • Challenge & Adventure features wilderness and camping skills, low ropes, team-building challenges, and our climbing wall, inspiring campers to grow, explore, and push their limits.

  • The Pool, led by our lifeguards, is always a splashing good time, perfect for cooling off and enjoying water-based fun.

Each area is led by one of our senior staff, whose summer focus is bringing that area’s activities to life. With their specialized skills and passion, they share the magic of each space with every camper, creating unforgettable experiences across all areas of camp.

MORNING CABIN ROTATIONS

At Camp Kee-Mo-Kee, our mornings feature two one-hour activity blocks, designed as cabin rotations. During these times, each cabin group takes part in a variety of activities, ensuring that every camper has the opportunity to experience all that KMK has to offer—including things they might not have tried otherwise. Moving through the activities together strengthens cabin friendships and builds teamwork as campers learn, play, and grow side by side. Each session is led by our senior staff, who bring specialized training, enthusiasm, and a passion for sharing their expertise in their “Fab 5” activity areas.

AFTERNOON CAMPER CHOICE

At Camp Kee-Mo-Kee, our afternoons feature two one-hour Camper Choice program blocks, designed to give campers the chance to follow their interests, try something new, and shape their own camp experience.

The first block is called T.N.T. (Try New Things). Unlike other activity blocks, TNT is dedicated to helping campers build and grow a specific skill. At the start of the week, each camper chooses one TNT session that they’ll attend every day during this block, allowing them to develop their abilities and confidence over time. TNT sessions draw on the diverse talents of our staff team and have included everything from Clown College, Ninjas, and Dungeons & Dragons storytelling, to Zine Making, Ukulele Fun, Camping & Wilderness Skills, and Spirituality & Real Kindness.

The second block is called C.Y.O.A. (Choose Your Own Adventure). In this block, campers select from 4–5 sessions led by our creative and enthusiastic staff. Some activities are camp favourites that run often—such as swimming, bracelet-making, and archery—while others are passion projects brought forward by staff, like crocheting, unique sports, or outdoor survival skills. Each round of CYOA typically includes an athletic session, a crafty session, a wilderness activity, and a “wild card,” ensuring that every camper can find something they’re excited to try.

Together, TNT and CYOA create afternoons filled with creativity, skill-building, and fun—where campers can follow their passions, discover new ones, and make unforgettable memories with friends old and new.

ALL CAMP GAME

Throughout the week, the entire camp comes together for large-scale games that bring energy, excitement, and community spirit to the whole site. Every day features a new all-camp adventure—past favourites have included Capture the Chicken, Colours, and Survival. These games make use of many camp spaces, encouraging campers of all ages to join in, work together, and have fun on a grand scale. It’s always a highlight of the afternoon, creating laughter, memories, and a true sense of camp-wide connection.

GAMES IN THE QUAD

During transition times and free periods, campers can head to the Quad to enjoy a variety of fun activities. From energetic games like Nine Square in the Air and basketball, to more relaxed pastimes such as cornhole or bracelet-making, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. These activities are a great way for campers to have fun and spend time with friends between scheduled sessions.

EVENING PROGRAMS

Each evening after dinner, all campers join together for our fun and engaging evening programs. These activities change week to week and can vary depending on the weather, camper interests, and the weekly theme. Some evenings offer campers a choice between two activities, while other nights feature all-camp events or cabin-led group activities. Past favourites have included Campfire, Campout, Carnival Night, Minute-To-Win-It, Talent Show, Movie Night, Spa Night, and Sports Night. Evening programs are a highlight of the day, providing another opportunity for campers to connect and make lasting memories.
