Mark your calendars! Haunted Cabins returns to camp on Sunday, October 25, from 12 to 4 pm, and we'd love to see you there. How the day works Your visit starts with a tractor hay ride through the forest and into camp. From there, the day is yours to plan. Walk through the haunted cabins, join a game, or wander the trails. What's happening: Haunted cabins: Community groups, local organizations, and groups of friends have taken over a cabin and turned it into a haunted house. Some are mildly spooky and some are properly scary, so you pick how brave you want to be. Costume dance: Starts at 2 pm, so wear your costume. Games, crafts, and a scavenger hunt: Plenty to do for all ages. Trails: Walk the paths around camp and see the fall colours. BBQ: The Optimists will be offering a cash-only BBQ. Trick-or-treating: Bring a basket or bag to collect treats at stops around camp.
Why we're doing it This year, Haunted Cabins is a fundraiser. All extra proceeds and donations go to our “Send a Kid to Camp Fund” for 2027. That fund helps more kids spend a week at camp, and every ticket and donation adds up. Help us make it happen An event like this only works because of our volunteers. The Optimists, our board of directors, summer staff, community members, and local organizations all give their time to pull it off. We'd love to add you to the list. There are two ways to help: Volunteer on the weekend: Sign up as an individual and we'll find a spot for you. Decorate a cabin: Gather your family, team, club, or workplace and take on a cabin. Bring the decorations and costumes, and we'll provide the cabin.
To sign up for either one, click this link to fill out the volunteer form. Spread the word Not able to volunteer? Coming out and telling your friends, neighbours, and coworkers helps just as much. The more people who join us, the more kids we can send to camp next summer. We can't wait to see your costumes. See you on the 25th! Carter Mahoney Executive Director
